Regardless of the worry and stresses in life, I will rejoice in The Lord. I rejoice in spite of the things in life that get me down.

I will live out my gentleness in my day to day life. He is near in a way that he will have direct influence in my life.

Paul is saying here that we are not to be without concern, but we are to take the concerns we have and lift them up in prayer and put them in the lords hands.

I we begin to let worry influence us, we see bad happenings as an introduce the next thing to go wrong. When the rain comes, we worry when the hail will begin.

God promises that when we trust in Jesus with our concerns, he will guard our hearts and minds. We will be at peace even as things continue to “go wrong”. It changes our outlook and choices that we make. We will start to be thankful when it only rains and the hail does not come.

Nothing productive comes from worry. Most often it is ends up being counter-productive. We have to be aware of how we deal with the stress and then begin to move in the direction of letting our Heavenly Father change us. To allow him to give us peace.

We are not to pursue the things god gives us, but to pursue the god who gives. (Oswald Chambers)
