As we finish , we are focusing on the call for us to the belief that God has made a way for salvation. As we come to the further discussion, we are asked, “What is our responsibility in light of the promises of Jesus?”
Paul is going to say that that this truth isn’t something we just hold onto for ourselves. But it is for everyone. In we saw that God has for everyone the same thing. That righteousness is available to everyone because all have fallen short of the glory of the Lord. There is no distinction for those who need Him, and there is no distinction to those who find Him. So fast forward to we see Paul reiterating, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” He isn’t you to do something, pay something, go somewhere for salvation. But God just wants us to accept Jesus as Lord.
In addition, we are not just accepting some dead person who started some ideology. We aren’t talking about working through levels of heaven, nirvana, or some inherited planet in space. But we are talking about a living Christ who will return one day to right the whole Earth.
And then Paul quotes from and moves to those who take the truth of God out with them. We don’t have to know the details, but we just have to be in relationship. So remember the context that Paul is working here. That everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord is saved. In Colossians we see Paul fill out this idea that there is no limit how He works through your position in life as well. So salvation is for all, and God can work through everyone in the world.
The arm of God is available to everyone. This is a symbol can be found in . The arm representing strength and also the signs of His covenant. And all the world have what’s needed to believe, but not everyone will believe. At the point that you hear the message, you now stand knowing the truth. Here we find valuable to see how God reveals Himself to everyone. That creation screams out pointing toward God. And Paul leads us to ask why after everything is shown to us would we continue to reject who God?
This is the challenge that Paul is making. Who will I put my trust in? Who will I follow? Who will I be when my world is falling apart? Will I put confidence in God’s promises in the context that He defines me in the trust we have in Jesus? It is our responsibility to be truthful to what we follow in our hearts. And every day is a challenge for all of us. Sometimes we say, “Lord sometimes I feel or act like I don’t believe at all.” But take note that at that moment you are showing that you are putting God ahead of those failures. You can trust that in that moment, God will hold out His hands to you. Will you take Him by the hand and walk forward in faith?
10:1 Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 or “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
18 But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for
“Their voice has gone out to all the earth,
and their words to the ends of the world.”
19 But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says,
“I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation;
with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”
20 Then Isaiah is so bold as to say,
“I have been found by those who did not seek me;
I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
21 But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.” (ESV)

the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who can discern his errors?
Declare me innocent from hidden faults.
13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me!
Then I shall be blameless,
and innocent of great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
